Dr. George Childress is a native of Roanoke, Alabama. He is a graduate of Auburn University (B.S. 1986) and of the University of Alabama (Birmingham) School of Dentistry (DMD 1991). He is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Society of Preservation of Oral Health, Academy of Implant Dentistry and an alumnus of the LD Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Study. Dr. Childress is married to the former Mary Lynn Page of LaGrange and they have four children, Allison, Caroline, Carson and Drake
Dr. Susan G. Rifkin, is a native of Syracuse, New York. A graduate of the SUNY at Buffalo in 1978 with a BS in Economics, she continued her dental education at SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, and
received her DDS in 1982. While an undergraduate in Buffalo, Dr. Rifkin participated in research at the dental school, and was published in JADA in 1978 on the Effects of electromyography on the TMJ.
Upon graduation, Dr. Rifkin relocated to Richmond, Virginia to begin her career as an associate professor at the Medical College of Virginia teaching dental anatomy to first year dental students and practicing general dentistry in several private practices. Shortly after, she was offered an opportunity to associate with Dr. Alan M. Kuehn in Atlanta, Ga., who she practiced with for 18 years prior to his retirement.
Dr. Rifkin has been practicing for 35 years, treating families in restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry. She is actively involved in continuing education. After completing the Maxi Course in Implant Dentistry in 2012, she continues to be an active member of ADIS (Advanced Dental Implant Studies) right here in Atlanta.
Her affiliations include; the ADA, GDA, Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry,
American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, Hinman Dental Association, and a board member of the local chapter and International Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity.
Dr. Susan has been married to her husband David for 30 years. He is a 7th grade language arts teacher at Davis Academy. They have two children, Zachary, 28, is also a graduate of SUNY School of Dental Medicine and is currently completing a GPR residency in Manhattan at Bellevue hospital. He will soon join his Mom in practice. Dani, 26, is a sales associate at ADP in Alpharetta.
Dr. Rifkin looks forward to participating on the local board and hopes to create more relationships with her peers and to aid in the continued success of the GACD.
A native of North Georgia, Dr. Brandon L. Esco attended Emmanuel College before transferring to the University of Georgia where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006. Upon acceptance into the School of Dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia, he sought to enhance his education through extra-curricular study clubs in esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. He was named the 2009 Pierre Fauchard Scholar. Dr. Esco completed the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta in 2010. Dr. Esco later returned to MCG for training in Implant Dentistry. He is currently an active member with the American Dental Association (ADA), Georgia Dental Association (GDA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), and The Hinman Dental Society.
Dr. Esco believes in treatment through a personalized approach using modern technology. He is a believer in a lifelong pursuit for education and strives to implement that knowledge into the practice, fusing advanced techniques and compassion with hopes that every patient will experience genuine care and comfort throughout their treatment.
Dr. Esco and his wife DJ, a Veterinarian in Auburn, Georgia like to spend their free time with family and friends, preferably outdoors. He participates in medical missions and has served in the United States, Costa Rica and Peru giving his time to share Christ’s story through dentistry.
Frank Manfre, BS is Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Pittman Dental Lab based in Gainesville, Georgia. He has over 13 years of experience working with dental laboratories and dentists and has worked as an executive in both profit and non-profit corporations and as a business coach and consultant focused on building high performance teams, leadership development, strategic planning, and business development. He is an advisor to the Georgia Dental Lab Association and a regular contributor to the Journal of Dental Technology, Inside Dental Technology, and Inside Dentistry magazines on the topic of business management.
Dr.Hugh Flax is internationally known for his leadership in cosmetic dentistry. A Past President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, he has lectured and authored in Europe, Japan, Canada, and the United States on lasers, smile design, and advance restorative techniques to enhance the skills of dental teams in making their care world class for their patients.
Hugh D. Flax received his DDS degree from Emory University in 1983 following undergraduate Phi Beta Kappa honors. While doing a residency he did Posterior Composites research at LSU Dental School in 1984-1985. He has been a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry since 1994 and became Accredited in 1997. He was President of the Atlanta Chapter of the AACD (1996-1998) and founded the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in 2007. Dr. Flax served for two years as Co-Chair of the Conference Advisory Committee for 2003 AACD Scientific Session in Orlando. He is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry and Practical Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. He has been the Chairperson of the AACD Private Education Advisory Council, the 2008 AACD Meeting, the 2010 AACD European Meeting, and was a member of the AACD Board of Directors for over 8 years. Outside of the AACD, Dr. Flax is a member of the ADA, AGD, ALD, AAID, ICOI, Catapult Elite, and the L.D. Pankey Alumni Association. He is also a certified Fellow with World Clinical Laser Institute. Lastly, he is a Fellow of both the International Academy of Dentofacial Therapeutics and ICOI. He recently completed the GHSU AAID Maxicourse.
Dr. Flax practices full time in Atlanta, Georgia focusing on functional-appearance related conditions and advanced laser dentistry as well as writing and lecturing on how to help others do the same for their own practices—including a full chapter in Dental Clinics of North America (Spring, 2011). For 4 years in a row, his website has been rated one of the best by Dental Economics magazine. In 2003, he was WSB-TV.com’s expert on Cosmetic Dentistry as well as appearing on FOX News demonstrating the miraculous benefits of laser dentistry. He has been the expert dentist on the “Meet the Products” television show and H2O Magazine. Lastly, he and his practice have been featured in many women’s magazines such as Cosmo, Allure, and Good Housekeeping as well as The Wall Street Journal, Dear Doctor, and Productive Dentist Magazine (cover story), The Atlanta Business Chronicle, Jezebel, Atlanta Magazine, In Style, and New Beauty magazine.
Jacqueline Delash, DMD, MPH, is on faculty in the Department of Restorative Sciences at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. Dr. Delash completed a Master's in Public Health (MPH) in Health Informatics and DMD, both from Augusta University. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency from New York University Hospitals Center, Atlanta location. Her AEGD concentrated on providing comprehensive dental care to medically complex patients at Ben Massell Dental Clinic and Grady Hospital's Oral Health Center and Infectious Disease Program.
Dr. Delash’s educational interests include operative dentistry, esthetics and occlusion. At DCG, she is director of the sophomore year dental occlusion course, and serves as faculty in preclinical and clinical courses for the first through third year dental students. Her published research focuses on restorative dentistry and oral medicine, and serves as a manuscript reviewer for both the Journal of Dental Education and Decisions in Dentistry. Dr. Delash’s service at DCG include member of the admission committee, faculty search committee, and attending dentist at the Augusta Equality Clinic.
Her awards and honors include Alpha Upsilon Phi Leadership Honor Society, Dr. John Freihaut and Dr. Janine Bethea Scholarship, and Outstanding Dental Student in Dentistry Award by the Academy of Osseointegration. She is an active member of the Hinman Dental Society, ADA, AGD, and GDA.
Dr. Delash was born and raised in Griffin, Georgia. She shares a passion for dentistry alongside her mother Paula Delash, CDT, who is a lab owner and dental ceramist. Dr. Delash and her husband Matt, an Emergency Department Physician, enjoy spending their free time traveling, and with family and friends.
Dr Sims is a native of Michigan where he received a degree in dental technology from Ferris State University in 1979. After obtaining his dental tech degree that he considers invaluable, Dr. Sims furthered his education at the University Of Detroit School Of Dentistry completing a DDS degree in 1984.
He practiced in Dearborn Michigan for 6 months when he was introduced to the beautiful city of Atlanta and decided to move. He has practiced in the Smyrna-Vinings area since 1985 maintaining a comprehensive restorative practice.
Continuing education has been a staple for Dr. Sims since 1985 studying with Drs. Dawson, Spear, Kois, Pride, Shuster, Goldstein, Garber, Salama, Garg, Chiche, Misch, Fahl, and many more. He is a member of the American Dental, Georgia Dental Associations, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The Leading Physicians of the World, and Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Along with his continuing education, Dr. Sims has traveled to Nicaragua, Sal Paulo, Brasilia, Kenya and South Africa for dental-medical mission trips as well as donating his time to the well-known 100 yr old Ben Massell Dental clinic in Mid Town Atlanta.
Dr. Sims loves the interaction with patients on a daily basis and enjoys walking into the office every day! After 30+ years in practice, he says “I would do it all again in a heart beat!”
Dr. Sarah Roberts earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Louisville in 2000. Her undergraduate degree is in Pharmacy and was completed at Purdue University in 1991. Dr. Roberts is an eternal student and has completed much continuing education with a focus towards cosmetic dentistry. She has completed an esthetic continuum at the Nash Institute and is a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Taking these high-level classes has enabled Dr. Roberts to deliver the highest quality of care possible with modern dental techniques and materials.
Dr. Roberts is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Hinman Dental Society, International Association of Comprehensive Aesthetics, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Roberts grew up in Indiana and now lives in Alpharetta with her husband, Philip, and their two daughters, Chloe and Natalie. She enjoys reading, shopping, swimming, and spending time relaxing with her family. Dr. Roberts takes delight in treating patients of all ages. She often volunteers at the local schools to teach dental health to students.
Dr. James (Jim) Forester earned his Associate Degree from Oxford College in 1975, his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Emory University in 1977, and his D.D.S. from Emory in 1981.
For over thirty years he has provided state of the art cosmetic and restorative dental care in the Atlanta area, and has practiced in Johns Creek, GA since 1997.
A self-professed Continuing Education junkie, he continually expands his education and has been fortunate to learn from some of the best clinical dentists around the world. He has completed intensive coursework at the Pankey Institute and the Dawson Academy in Florida, and most recently, the Kois Center in Seattle, one of the country's leading institutions of advanced dental training. Currently he serves the Kois Center as a Mentor, helping other dentists on topics such as occlusion, dental esthetics and rehabilitation, dental implants, and crown and bridge dentistry.
He has been happily married to Jenny since 1982. Jenny is a high school special education teacher. They have 3 grown children.
He maintains memberships in the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Equilibration Society, the Pankey Institute, the Kois Center, and has participated in multiple mission trips to Guatemala and volunteered at the Good Samaritan Clinic.

Dr. Sholota has been practicing in North Atlanta since receiving his dental degree from West Virginia University in 1983. Dr. Sholota regularly continues his education by attending many advanced dental institutions with training by the leading dental clinicians in the world. He has studied “mastering cosmetic bonding” in Brazil at Dr. Newton Fahl’s Education Center. Dr. Sholota is a graduate of the Kois Center in Seattle and The Pankey Institute for Advanced Learning as well as The University of the Pacific's PAC Live program, one of the country’s leading centers for Advanced Cosmetic Restorative Dentistry. He has also attended The Seattle Institute for Advanced Learning with Frank Spear and The Cosmedent Center of Excellence for Restorative Dentistry in Chicago.
Dr. Sholota is a member of the following Associations:American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Pankey Institute Alumni, American Equilibration Society, Kois Study Club of Atlanta and the Norcross Dental Study Club. Brian is the owner of Beautiful Smiles by VIVIDX, in Buford, GA specializing in aesthetic implant reconstructions and all-ceramic restorations.
He has studied with many world renowned clinicians and technicians and maintains membership in several prestigious organizations.
Brian has presented lectures and hands-on courses to technicians and dentists for more than 20 years.
He is recognized as a leading authority on pressable ceramics and has pioneered many innovative techniques, including Press-to-metal and Press-to-Zirconia.
Brian is a key instructor for Noritake dental ceramics and maintains an active teaching schedule both nationally and internationally. He consults with manufacturers on the development and evolution of new techniques and materials.
